This article details how to use the Mailbag webmail site, http://webmail.mailbag.com. Many new options are available in this system; some of these options are covered briefly here, but for the full details, see the Help section of the webmail site.

Accessing Email Through Webmail
- Follow the link to http://webmail.mailbag.com
- Enter your username (Do not include the @mailbag.com portion of your address)
- Enter your password
- Click the "Login" button
Changing Your Password
To change your password yourself:
- Log in to webmail.mailbag.com with your supplied credentials
- Click on Options from the Top Menu
- Select Change Password
If you have forgotten your password, you can request a password reset through the Support Request Form.
Organizing Your Emails
You can create folders and organize your emails.
- From the Options menu, select Folder Preferences
- Enter the folder name you'd like associated with the folder, and click create.
- If you need to add a sub-folder to an existing folder, then select a folder in the drop down menu and click create.
Subscribed folders are listed in the colored area on the left. We can subscribe folders so they can be automatically refreshed.

Setting Up Your Address Book
Please note that the Address Book is different than your POP email client's address book. You can add the contacts separately or import the contacts from your email client!
To Export Contacts from Outlook as .csv
- Select File and then Import and Export from the menu.
- Make sure Export to a file is highlighted.
- Click Next >.
- Make sure Comma Separated Values (Windows) is selected.
- Click Next > again.
- Highlight the Contacts folder.
- Click Next >.
- Use the Browse... button to specify a location and file name for the exported contacts. Suggestions might be "Outlook.csv" or "ol-contacts.csv". Save the file to the desktop of your computer.
- Click Next > (once more).
- Now click Finish.
To Export Contacts from Apple Mail as .csv
To export contacts from Apple mail please go to http://www.hawkwings.net/2006/04/24/address-book-to-csv-exporter/ to download the ‘Address book to Csv exporter’. Follow the instructions in the software to export the contacts.
To Import contacts to Address Book
- Click browse to select a file that is saved on your computer.
- Leave all the fields as default.
- Click on ‘Import CSV file’.
Size: Please make sure that file size is 5 KB or less.
SPAM filter settings
The webmail system's default spam filter settings are as follows:
- Identified Spam is delivered to the Spam folder of the http://webmail.mailbag.com interface.
- Identified Spam is only visible in the webmail client.
- Identified Spam is not downloaded to via the pop client unless you log into http://webmail.mailbag.com and move it from the Spam folder to your inbox.
You can view or change these settings in the Options section of http://webmail.mailbag.com. You can also set up filters to always block or always accept messages from an email address through these options.

Changing Personal Information or Creating a Signature
You can change your personal information by clicking on a Personal Information option under Options. This information will be used when you send out an email and allows the recipient to identify who the email is from. This is also where you can create a personalized signature which will automatically be added to the end of each email message you create.
Display Preferences
Now you can customize your email to your favorite colors, themes, styles. You can also set message display settings to view certain number of messages in inbox. If you are unsure on what options to use then you can leave those options as default. These options are more personalized and it doesn’t affect your email.
Highlighting Messages
Message highlighting is the great tool to distinguish the messages in your inbox without scrolling through each. For example, if you want to set the john@yahoo.com email to come as Red and identify as Personal or business, you can select that email and add a color by following the directions below.
- Click on [New] to create a new one, or [Edit] to edit an existing one and the options will appear below.
- Identifying Name: This is where you can set the name as Personal, business, etc
- Color: You can select any color from the panel below
- From: this is where you will be putting the email address on where it is coming from. You can select the drop down menu and customize it to your own preference.

Index Order
You can control the view on your inbox to see what how would you like to see your messages. You can add or remove the sections like date, flags, size, subject, from. You can also move columns up and down.
