1. CONTENT - 60%
Knowledge - sound grasp of all pertinent information
Understanding - can show the relationship between events and people, etc.
Evaluation - through reasoning can analyze the above and
to some extent pass "educated" judgement on them.
2. TECHNICAL WRITING - 20%
Introductory Paragraph and Thesis Statement
Main Section - Development of your thesis statement, selective use of pertinent material to support your thesis statement, ability to address the title of your essay.
Conclusion - Summation of your logic and reasoning used
in the main part of your essay to prove your thesis
statement.
3. STYLE - 20%
Use of English
- grammar, spelling, punctuation- transitional phrases/sentences to create a flowing narrative
- avoidance of dramatic, dogmatic, flowery and repetitious use of words
- emergence of personality in writing
