Amaryllis

I like forcing an Amaryllis bulb in the winter. Because my space is limited, I usually do only one. The variety on the left, 'Picotee,' is my favorite. It has white flowers with slightyly pointed petals that each have a distinct, pink edge. The one on the right is 'Red Lion.' This is the first year I've grown it. Several people have told me good things about it so I thought I'd give it a try. It's sent out three flower stalks this January/February. A woman at the garden center where I purchased this bulb has one of her own that bloomed on three separate occasions one year so I'm going to try keeping this one and see if it will do the same for me. In the summer I will put it in the sunniest spot on the deck and feed it religiously.
