These are the first lilies I ever grew and I have found them adaptable
to the shade. The two hybrid lilies shown here are 'Menton,' the yellow one and 'Montreax,' the pink one. They are not fragrant, but the colors are nice.
Even with the strong storms we've had this summer only a few of the stems
needed staking.

| The two white lilies shown here, L. tigrinum 'White Tiger' (middle) and L. oriental 'Casa Blanca' (bottom) are still fairly new though they've done well so far. I'm still withholding judgement for a couple more seasons. It's possible they're thriving on the energy they had stored in their bulbs from the nursery where they were grown. Only time will tell if they're able to maintain this vigor in the shade. I think they both have beautiful flowers. The blooms of both cultivars are very heavy and those of 'Casa Blanca' are fragrant. |
