This plant would be a perfectly fine groundcover
in the right situation. At first I thought it was a little too much yellow for my taste.
My experience has shown that it's very easy to
grow, keeps its gold color on less than a half day of sun, and forms a
very dense, low mat which makes it a good groundcover. The leaves
are about the size of a quarter and very round. The stems are soft
and so probably wouldn't take being walked on. I do see potential
for using this in a brighter situation on a bank or wall among other plants
where the gold color isn't so jarring. The past couple of summers it's fallen prey to some kind of caterpillars, possibly sawfly larvae, but I'm hoping that now that we've had a normal winter they'll get knocked back and won't be such pests
