Topographic maps in DRG format

I have several CD-ROM's of USGS DRG maps available for sale.  The maps are in the same format as supplied from the USGS with metadata and calibration files.   The maps are public domain and may be reproduced without restriction.

The CD-ROM'S do not come with viewing software.  If you do not have viewing software, please read the USGS DRG page or check out  "http://gpsinformation.net/">GPS General Information from Joe and Jack" for information on how to use these maps.

The CD-ROM'S cost $30 each shipped via first class mail to the USA or Canada.  Payment is by check or money order due when you receive the CD-ROM.

BWCAW

This CD-ROM contains maps for all of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness (BWCAW) and surronding area.  1:24000, 1:100000 and 1:250000 maps are included.  The area covered is west of 90°W, east of 92° 30'W and north of 47° 45'N to the US-Canada border or 48° 22.5'N. List of the maps included. Index map (209KB).

DRG maps that cover the BWCAW may now be downloaded free from  two different sources.  The GIS Data Depot has full coverage.  The GIS Data Depot's interface is a bit awkward and requires maps to be located by county.  The BWCAW in is Cook, Lake, and St. Louis counties (east to west).  The DRG Exchange has maps for the areas south of 47° N.  Maps are sorted in 1° by l° blocks.

Dane County, Wisconsin

This CD-ROM contains maps for Dane county and surrounding areas.  1:24000, 1:100000 and 1:250000 maps are included. The area covered is west of 89°W, east of 90° W, south of 43° 45'N, and north of Illinois.  This covers all of Dane, Columbia, and Green Counties, and parts of Sauk, Rock,  Lafayette, and Iowa Counties.  See the full list of maps.  This is one of the best areas to ride a road bicycle.  I use these maps for finding the most interesting rides.

Please note that the Wisconsin DNR has 1:24000 maps of all Wisconsin available for download free.  The DNR has modified the maps so that they use the Wisconsin transverse mercator projection rather than UTM.  But, the maps can still be used with programs like OziExplorer by adjusting projection parameters.  Downloading maps may be a good option if you only need a few specific 1:24000 maps.

Baraga and Marquette Counties,  Michigan

This CD-ROM contains maps for all of Baraga and Marquette counties in the UP of Michigan.  This is a wonderful area to mountain bike, hike, hunt or fish.  DRG maps and a GPS are very handy in this area.  There are many unimproved roads and trails, but no signs. See the list of included maps.
